Her journey takes her from the Army School of Nursing during World War I to a career as a nurse educator during World War II and the Cadet Nurse Corps.Through Kathryn's story\, readers explore themes of nursing history\, women's education\, immigration\, family\, identity\, perseverance\, racism\, and professional growth.
