Her journey takes her from the Army School of Nursing during World War I to a career as a nurse educator during World War II and the Cadet Nurse Corps.Through Kathryn's story\, readers explore themes of nursing history\, women's education\, immigration\, family\, identity\, perseverance\, racism\, and professional growth. The novel offers a fascinating look at how nursing has evolved while highlighting many of the challenges and opportunities that have shaped the profession.
